The Weekly 5 Featuring Spider-Man: No Way Home
Welcome to The Weekly 5 where I share 5 things I enjoyed from the week!
1. Spider-Man: No Way Home CGI Reaction
I loved watching this video because I’m a big ol’ nerd for seeing how things are made. I’ll be watching a whole lot more of this channel in the future.
2. John Wick: Chapter 4 Footage Reaction: Yeah, We're Thinking He's Back Yet Again [CinemaCon 2022]
Don’t read this if you don’t want to know anything before going into seeing John Wick 4, but I’ll just say that I’m all in for however many of these Keanu wants to do.
3. The Rise and Fall of Marvel 2099
I have a lot of blind spots when it comes to comics, considering Marvel and DC have been around for… a little bit. Marvel 2099 is one of those blind spots, but this was packed with good information.
4. The Unforgiven: Inside the Making of Season 3 of ‘Barry’
Like the first two seasons, the third packs an almost shocking amount of comedy and terror into each episode. But the show’s unique tone, according to Berg, wasn’t planned. “We just went, ‘It’s about this and this is what this guy wants. And here’s another character that’s in his way and here’s how he would go,’” he says. “I always use this analogy of the whole show being written by two guys standing at a piano hitting a note and going, ‘Is it this? No, I think it’s higher. Is it that? No, maybe a little lower. There it is. That’s the note.’”
Alan Siegel over at The Ringer has a great read on the third season of Barry. I loved the first two seasons, so I’m glad we’re finally getting season 3. I enjoyed the first episode so far.
5. ‘Evil Dead: The Game’ Looks to Be Raising the Bar for Asymmetrical Horror [Hands-On Preview]
One important question I had when going into the preview was “How is this game going to stand out from its peers in the asymmetrical multiplayer space?” The genre is already well-known for hits like Behaviour Interactive’s Dead By Daylight, and is becoming further saturated with upcoming titles like Gun Media’s Texas Chain Saw Massacre game. Walking out of the preview, I felt that Saber Interactive knocked it out of the park in multiple ways, but my biggest takeaway was the sense of agency that the gameplay provides on both the survivor and killer sides.
I’m so behind on playing the PS5 games I already have, but this looks like it’ll be fun. I’ll likely wait a bit before picking it up though since I do still want to make my way through the Miles Morales game and Guardians of the Galaxy before I buy more.
That’s all for this week! Hope everyone has a good weekend.
