The Weekly 5 Featuring JLA/Avengers
Welcome to The Weekly 5! I did not intend to miss las week, but I apparently never knew what day it was until the week was already over. This week, there’s a bunch of cool comic book stuff that is circling around that is worth checking out. Let’s dive in.
1. JLA/Avengers Heads Back to Print
The new Hero Initiative edition of JLA/Avengers will be a 288-page softcover volume, with a cover price of $29.99. It will be limited to 7,000 copies, and will be available to order through Diamond Comic Distributors, rush-solicited for release in March. Along with previously-released bonus material including introductions by Stan Lee and Julius Schwartz, the new edition will also include a brand-new afterward by Busiek.
I have not read JLA/Avengers, but I have read some other work from George Pérez and the only downside to this release is that it’s only 7,000 copies. That’s not necessarily a small run, but with George being sick and the fact that this title hasn’t been printed in quite some time, it’ll likely go fast.
2. First Look at Netflix’s Sandman
It would appear that I need to hurry up and start reading the Sandman comics.
3. Note to Self: Read Nubia and the Amazons
This comic looks very good and this is mostly just a reminder to myself to read it, but also a little reminder for everyone else that this comic exists.
4. SUPERMAN and THE AUTHORITY annotations PART 1
I had heard a little about the big 5G plans that DC had, but Grant Morrison sharing information about it is worth a read, not to mention all of the other thoughts they share on the projects throughout the years.
5. Aquaman is going for an R-rated dive into DC's oceans with Andromeda
Ram V on a horror-driven Aquaman series? I’m in.

That’s all for this week! I will be on vacation from 2/23 - 3/6, but I’m planning to catch up on some stuff I’ve missed out on due to editing approximately 800 podcast episodes. So I should still get the newsletter out each of the next two weeks, but I’m also going to do my best to try to relax.
